Why this series matters
HOLED begins with a huge, smooth-edged hole and an absence of evidence for whatever made it. The disappearance extends into memory: people cannot name what they have lost. Episode 2 develops the emotional consequence—grief can remain after the memory of a person has gone—and puts investigation against a Council’s preference for comforting explanations.
This is a sustained mystery with linked episodes and explicit visual rules. Reserving a colour for one kind of evidence gives art direction a narrative job: a small departure from the rule can become a clue. That is a more useful filmmaking question than whether an isolated generated shot looks convincing.
Watch and episode scope
Start with Episode 1, published August 19, then Episode 2, published August 27. The creator’s October 5 X link points to this earlier Episode 2 release; it is not evidence of a new October premiere.
The official playlist contains episodes labelled 1–5 and related excerpts. Its current item order does not consistently follow episode numbering. The ten-episode statement is a plan, not a claim that all ten are released. Full playback of the opening two episodes was checked; no complete-season viewing or critical review is claimed.
Production evidence
The public descriptions disclose the story’s colour rule but not the underlying models, crew or cost. An advertisement for private behind-the-scenes material does not establish what that material says. The solo-production and scripting disclosures for The Wrong Planet are specific to that film and are not assumed to describe HOLED.
